Landworks Studio, Inc. is a design-driven landscape architecture collaborative established in 1996 by Founding Principal and Design Director Michael Blier. We are an innovative, culturally diverse team that offers unique perspectives and experiences that are intricately woven into the fabric of our work. We take pride and celebrate the individual accomplishments of our group and the way this informs our collaborative approach to design.

We have ongoing commissions regionally and internationally at various scales and program. Our portfolio includes small pocket parks, mixed-use developments, institutional campus landscapes, adaptive reuse communities, sustainable neighborhood planning, and city-wide master plans.

Landworks Studio is located in downtown Salem, MA, just 40 minutes north of Boston and steps away from the MBTA commuter rail station. Our office, a former mid-century car dealership, has a bright and spacious atmosphere. Large garage doors provide direct access to the outdoors, a feature we frequently take advantage of during the warmer months.

Landworks Studio offers a competitive salary and benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, and a 401K plan. Paid time off includes 11 holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Option to work remotely two days per week.

Landscape Architect/Designer

We are seeking a design-forward landscape architect/designer with 3-5+ years of experience to join our Salem Office. Successful candidates will demonstrate exceptional leadership and communication skills, are self-motivated, driven, and committed to design excellence and associated challenges. Experience with construction documentation and technical drawings is required. Project management and business development experience as well as a willingness to mentor others is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate an advanced knowledge of CAD and construction methodology. Responsibilities will include preparing construction details and specifications, managing important, high profile client relationships, contributing to the production of graphic materials including renderings and presentation packages, and offering guidance and support to the design team.

Senior Landscape Architect

We are seeking a full-time, registered landscape architect with significant experience evolving designs from the conceptual level through the DD, CD, and CO. Applicants should have extensive experience in preparing drawing sets and specifications as well as an understanding of materials, contemporary fabrication, and construction techniques. We are also looking for someone with advanced leadership skills and the ability to mentor entry-level designers in all aspects of project development.

Landworks Studio is a small, design-driven collaborative. We encourage thoughtful team dialogue and often host design charrettes to collectively express thoughts, ideas, and opinions. We strongly believe in this collaborative process and are looking for the right individual to grow, strengthen, and build upon our team structure.
