Landworks Studio is currently overseeing the construction of two terraces at the MIT4 tower in Kendall Square, Cambridge designed by architects NADAAA and Perkins & Will, set to open later this year. The first terrace is a playspace for the adjacent daycare center for the graduate students’ children. The colorful rubber surface, pavers, turf mounds and two sets of play apparatus will be shaded by 19 Chinese Elm trees.
Truckloads of the trees from North Carolina arrived at the site on Wednesday morning and were installed under the direction of Project Director Chris Macfarlane. We are thrilled with the progress of the site and look forward to sharing more updates in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
