E-Lofts 1 | Alexandria, VA
E-Lofts is the first project in a series of collaborations with Novus Property Holding to convert unused buildings into live-work properties. This former office tower now fosters both commercial programming and 200 residential units. The design for the plaza along the central plinth provides eleven unique spaces for a variety of activities, from relaxing in hammocks to exercising on athletic surfacing to sitting at the bar or watching movies on the lawn. The flexible spaces are privatized by new hedge planters, colorful polycarbonate screens, and lightboxes that bring new life to the existing vegetation.
